To keep your luggage clean and beautiful for years to come, use a soft sponge or cloth, water or any mild household detergent. Avoid using cleaning products that contain bleach, acetone, ammonia as well as coarse and abrasive sponges that can damage the finish of your hardside case and may discolor the fabric on your softside bag.
For sticky zippers, this can be caused by dirt, debris or years of use; we recommend using warm water and a small amount of dish soap and scrub your zippers. Remember to completely rinse and dry them afterwards. this will remove any debris and you can also use the lead of a pencil to gently rub the zipper teeth, which in turn will act as a dry lube on the zipper.
Store your luggage in an upright position in a dry location. Avoid storing luggage in extreme temperatures. To conveniently save space, all sizes from this collection nest (fit neatly) inside each other. Just open the largest suitcase and set the smaller size(s)—with the wheels facing the same direction—inside. Close lids and zip the outermost bag closed. When you're not out there exploring the world, we recommend keeping your luggage covered while being stored.

This is easily the nicest carry in luggage that I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I can already tell that I will have this luggage for the rest of my life due to the extremely durable build quality. It does not swivel and instead has 2 large wheels which appear to be virtually indestructible even if this bag ends up getting checked. Overall this bag has everything ai could ever want in a carry on.
This suitcase is so nice. I used it for a weekend trip and it held everything I needed and more. It wheels and pulls nicely. Plenty of room and compartments and a solid fabric which makes it durable. Love it!!
If you're looking for a smooth gliding light weight carry on case then this is it. The handle is adjustable and you can stack it on the larger one or stack a pack on this one. Hard cover and durable. Inside you will find several pockets to place your toiletries or lingerie. There is a lot more room in the main compartment than expected. I was packing and found that I had more room than clothes I was taking! This travel case is amazing and I highly recommend it
The carry on is incredibly well built I'm a big fan of design. I love the different departments I can get from gate to gate how ever the bag is well blance pull through terminal.
I have to say WOW the design is incredibly sturdy stylish and beautiful! With multiple practical compartments I feel this is a perfect choice for my husband to use on short trips. It even includes a feature for hanging bags. Highly recommend!
I'm mind blown. This is easily one of the nicest luggages I own now!It has SO much storage an LED flashlight for emergencies a removable waterproof slots and it's made with nanotech fabric so it'll last longer without rips. The wheels are so smooth to roll. I wish it was 360 wheels though! Can't believe it's a carry on size too!
I absolutely love the Ricardo Beverly Hills Flight Essentials Softside Carry On! It's lightweight stylish and incredibly practical for both short trips and longer getaways. The wheels glide smoothly through airports and the handle feels sturdy and comfortable to use. The compartments are well-designed making it easy to keep everything organized from clothes to travel documents. The fabric looks elegant and durable and it fits perfectly in the overhead bin.I highly recommend this carry on to anyone who values quality functionality and a touch of sophistication while traveling!
I travel a few times a month for work and this bag has been perfect. It fits in every overhead bin I've used and rolls smooth through airports. The handle feels sturdy and never sticks. The inside layout makes packing simple. There's room for my laptop charger and a few days of clothes without feeling cramped. The fabric has held up well through a lot of trips and still looks new.I've had to gate check it several times on smaller planes and it's come back without a single mark or tear. The zippers are solid and don't snag and the stitching hasn't loosened anywhere. It's clear the quality is a step above most bags I've used.It stands upright even when packed full and doesn't tip over. It's light easy to lift and dependable every time I travel.
The carry-on is incredibly well built! Big fan of the design. One of the only other suitcases that's built as well as a Briggs & Riley and also has the expansion in between the wheel and front legs so that the carry-on doesn't topple over when expanded. I also love that I can replace the wheels myself with third-party rollerblade wheels! The ones on the carry-on are the standard 24mm wide rollerblade wheels and you can find sizes around 105-110mm that can fit in the wheel housing. Widely available and easily replaceable wheels was one of the main reasons why I love this carry-on (in addition to the excellent durable build).
I had issues finding more "real-world" measurements of the product online so I measured it myself. The height is 22in including the wheels but excluding the top handle (22.5in including the top handle). The depth is accurate at 10in. The width is 14in excluding the handles (14.5in including the handles).
I bought this because it is a successor to a similar bag sold by Costco for years. We own five of the former and all have survived amazingly well (that is, except for the one that American Airlines ran over with a cart). I like two wheel bags (not spinners) and the only improvement I would like for this bag is a larger size for the expansion section (they shrunk it from the Costco-style bags). It looks as well made so I expect years of service.
I bought this bag as a lighter option for putting in overhead bins. I’ve only used it on one trip so far but it met or exceeded expectations. The J-hook works well and I like being able to remove it for trips where I don’t need my flight bag. However, the bag is well balance pulling through a terminal with a flight bag on the J-hook. Wheels and bearings seem comparable to other flight crew bags. The expander doesn’t give a ton of extra space but it’s enough to squeeze in a couple more items. So far I’m pleased with this purchase.
Ricardo made carry-ons sold by Costco that we loved (we bought five over several years). American airlines destroyed one so this is a replacement.
Upsides: seems to have the same rugged construction (all of our Costco models look almost new some nearly 20 years old). All of the basic design elements looks similar (another plus for me).
Downsides: The expansion section is smaller than on the Costco models (I hope they increase it in the future). It also is slightly smaller in overall dimension but I assume that is to make it compatible with more airlines.
I really love the durability and handling of the bag when I am going from gate to gate. I am a flight attendant and my constant travel usually wears down on suitcase. This suitcase has proven to handle the load so I can get my job done.
We live in a world where not much gets better. As time goes on, things always seem be more cheaply made. Not the case with Ricardo Beverly Hills. I purchased the same bag in April of 2019. Except for the pandemic months I have been traveling nonstop. I have had over 100 flights with connections this year alone. My bag was bullet proof and took a beating by the airlines until recently when a baggage vehicle drove over it. I loved this bag so much I ordered a new bag expecting it would not be as good as my current bag. I was right, it's not as good. It's much, much better. Handles, better. Wheels, better. Material and construction better. I am retiring in 5 years and expect this bag will serve me well for many years to come and many more in retirement. Thanks Ricardo!!!!
Great product. I originally bought a version of it 10 years earlier, and it just wouldn't wear out. The zipper was a little tough around the curves; it just wouldn't break, and I was tough on it, so purchasing anything else would have been crazy.
I still miss my 15 year old green Ricardo but have to admit the new Flight Essentials is a sharp bag. Same great size, easily the biggest carry on allowed, and quality construction, hence why the old bag lasted so long. Some of the new features, such as large wheels, protective corner bumpers, wet pouch and removable liner, for easy cleaning, are very nice! Have to admit the black ballistic material is attractive but will still put in a plea to bring back the hunter green so I am not looking at every black bag when I do have to check it. I remain a Ricardo fan.
So great to have a bag that is the new version of the Costco Kirtland bag that your company made for so long.
It would be really nice though to have a real handle at the bottom of the bag to grab when picking up. The material to grab is not convenient and seems like it will wear out quickly.
I've been a TravelPro user for 30 years, but I don't like their new products. I love this one. The size of this is perfect, the wheels are HUGE and the outside pockets are exactly what I wanted.
There are 3 improvements that really need to be made. The teeth of the zipper are way too small; there needs to be a real handle on the bottom to help lifting (instead of a cloth flap), and the amount of expandability needs to be increased. I don't understand why they made a wonderful suite case like this without these changes.
I received this product free in exchange for an honest review. The Ricardo Beverly Hills Flight Essentials Softside Carry-one is an essential for families. Not only does it fit a ton of clothing items. The exterior also was very sturdy. Like parents whose kids like to jump and play on their luggage the Ricardo carry on did not sink in while my kids were climbing on it.. The wheels glide very nice and easy to maneuver. I actually was surprised this was a carry-on luggage bag with how much stuff I could fit into it.. However it did lose a star because a zipper fell off before I could even use it and I have not heard anything from customer service on the warranty since a week since I submitted the client. There are locations that you can bring it in person to get fixed however I do not live near any of them.
VERY SOLIDLY built luggage. Wheels are oversized compared to most carry on luggage rollerboards which is actually great(navigates different surfaces much more easily). Only downside is this piece is a bit heavy(10lbs)
I had a Ricardo carry-on bag that was the same size. It was part of a set I had bought 15 years ago. It was the bag I use all of the time since most travelers use a carry-on bag instead of checking a bag through. Unfortunately, the cover over one of the wheels cracked after years of use. I could not find another carry-on as generous in size as this Ricardo bag to replace my previous one. For a carry-on, it is really generous. There are many separate sections, and sections within sections...a place for everything. It rolls smoothly, too. I am so happy that Ricardo still manufactures this soft-sided, larger carry-on.
Really like the pockets inside the main compartment. Only complaint is that the zipper feels a little flimsy especially when zipping through the corners of the bag.
This is a great-looking suitcase. Here's what I like:
- Expandable. Very helpful when you have to cram a few more things in. You can unzip the expansion zipper, add your extra things, zip up the main zipper, then sometimes you can re-zip the expansion zipper which acts like compression straps.
- Plenty of compartments. The plastic one is unique. Looks like it will fit a bathing suit should you have to travel right after swimming.
- Two BIG wheels! Seems like zippers and wheels are the first to go on suitcases I've owned. I'm guessing that due to the size difference, these wheels will last twice as long as the typical smaller ones on other suitcases, and I can't see any good reason to have four wheels - they would be twice as many points of failure, and take up too much space!
- Very light weight. I was surprised that it is so light, given its rugged appearance
I have another suitcase from this manufacturer that is now worn out. It had some other features that aren't available on this new one, so I'll have to adjust. But combining my experience with the old and the new, here are some things that might improve the next version of this bag...
- The strap that allows you to attach another bag is heavy duty, but the metal "hanger" part on the end doesn't fold or collapse and you have to open the main zipper on the bag to store it inside - tough to do when the bag is stuffed full. It is nice that this strap detaches, but the hanger makes it difficult to store
- The compartment you would store a suit coat is shallow, although it allows more depth in the main compartment. I am spoiled with a deeper section on my old bag so I'll have to adapt accordingly. An improvement might be to allow it to expand into the main compartment a couple inches, and have straps to secure the garments if perchance you didn't have enough garments to fill the space
- The main zippers hang up slightly when you move them around the corners. I think they will smooth out once I get some miles on the thing. That was the first thing my wife noticed so she came away with the impression that they are not quality zippers. I am sure that's not the case, but that's a potential sale lost (to my wife) so some reassurances here would be helpful

I have the older version & was disappointed the dimensions of the new one were cut down , my older case was the Beverly Hills edition & i couldn't be happier with that one , but one of the rollers cracked on it . So here i am trying to replace it !

Broken zipper after 1 trip. Also, the design of the handle consumes valuable packing space, and the expansion zipper does little to provide any extra space. Overall, I am not impressed.
